Frequently Asked Questions....

The Vette Top 100 is to provide a fair way to rank corvette sites on the net. Rankings are generated from people clicking on the voting banners that a site puts on thier page. Sights that attempt spamming or falsely running up thier score will be deleted and banned. This is to help people find good vette information and for the site owners that put alot of work into thier sites to get some reconigtion for it.

Added 1/28/2001 Usuage of popup banners or scripts to pump up votes for sites is against the rules. Also sites that do not have corvette related material are of some kind are a no no:)

Added 6/17/2002 Ok some new rules here at the Vettetop100. Things are getting COMPLETELY out of hand on some of the sites. So to make it as plain as possible heres some new rules.

#1 No adding sites that dont have vettes. Id of though this was a no brainner. Im willing to make exceptions for a few of the sites I see doing it. These being sites that a corvette enthusist might find useful. Sites that are for care car, Insurance for collectors cars, etc will be allowed IF they fall under something a person with a corvette might want or need and IF they have a vettetop100 vote banner on the site thats EASY to find. I will delete sites that dont follow this rule. So if you selling something and arent a corvette site then you best have a banner. I will not stop deleting the site just because after going thru 14 links I can find a vettetop100 banner. This should at least stop the people that randomly add sites they have nothing directly to do with.

#2 NO GET RICH QUICK SITES. I nailed 3 of those todays. I dont care if your going to tell us all how to invest 5 cents and make 50 billion. Ya aint doing it here. If you want to try to use the rankings to force this down peoples throats then I sugest you spend ALOT of time making the most awesome corvette site on the planet and stick the pyramid scam inside that somewhere. Cause a site that is just a get rich quicky site is nuked on sight.

#3 No other rankings sites. Im not sure if this was being done by people as a joke or if the people decided to make a rankings site and had bad enough taste to use others sites to get users. I dont make money of this thing. I dont get ANYTHING in return for the work done on it or the mega money it cost in bandwidth to host it either. So if you want to start a rankings site then at least do it on your OWN dime.

#4 No hammering for votes. Im doing the "taking some votes" away method first for people I catch doing it at first. If they dont take a hint after that then I delete them from the rankings. I wouldnt really mind everyone trying real hard to get those votes in as soon as possible but you dont realise how much everyone doing it all the time cost. If only a few did it the cost wouldnt be so bad but I counted over 3000 clicks done today by different cheaters. This being within a 4 hour period this morning. Thats ALOT of bandwidth that should be going to folks that want to use the site for what is meant for. I will have to eventually give into the people wanting to run ads on here if I cant keep the cheaters from loading the pages uselessly all the time.
