Condition when I got it

I got this one from my father inlaw. The transmission messed up and the shops were telling him it would cost $2500 for a trans to go in it so he parked it. I bugged him for years about it as it was sitting in the field rusting basically. Finally he sold it to me for $1 :)

The interior is in amazing condition but the rest of the truck has suffered from sitting so long.

It had sat in that field for 10 years I think when I got it and it sat at my place for a few years after I got it as the fuel pump was bad and my main initial concern was stopping the rust from spreading. Finally I put a pump in it and it cranked right up. Super silent motor. I took it for a test drive and the oil pressure vanished. The 4.9 straight 6 was purring along so smooth and powerful and then zero oil pressure. I got it back home and it sat for awhile more. Then my son and I put an oil pump in it. My son did most of the work on this project. Wasnt very fun because we couldnt get the oil pan completely out and basically just dropped the pan and moved it over as much as possible to allow changing the pump. After putting in a new pump and new pump pickup screen, changing the oil and filter we tried cranking it. Cranked first time and ran perfect with good oil pressure. So the trucks back driveable now. Next will be finding a good trans for it. Then painting it.
